Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi revealed that the world market for halal products is still an up-and-coming market.

This has cost Muslims more than USD 2 trillion in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, fashion, and recreation sectors.

“This is an opportunity that we must make good use of,” said Muhammad Lutfi in the Opening Ceremony of Trade Expo Indonesia, which was broadcast online on Thursday (21/10/2021).
He also revealed that Indonesia’s exports of halal products in fisheries had reached USD 6 billion, ranking 21st in the World.

“Then the export of Muslim fashion products is estimated to reach USD 4.1 billion with the 13th largest ranking in the world,” he said.

For the first time, the largest trade exhibition in Indonesia, namely Trade Expo Indonesia, will promote halal products and Indonesian Muslim fashion.

There is an excellent platform provided for these local halal products.
Not only that, but Muhammad Lutfi also announced the launch of the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week event, which will be held back-to-back with the 36th Trade Expo Indonesia Digital Edition.

“We are doing this as part of Indonesia’s efforts as a center for the halal product industry and a fashion mecca for the Muslim fashion industry in the world in the future,” he said.
